The Reality of Scripture

God has many times blessed many folks with the reality of His Scripture. Over time and several events He has taught me to expect answers from the Bible when I have been earnest in looking there and seeking His Righteousness in my heart. None of this happens because of me. It is always to glorify that HE Himself is the Answer we all need.

I had a Vietnamese speaking friend at work named Sam. He had noticed how Real the Bible seemed to me and one day asked me to get him a Bible in Vietnamese. After it came, I held it in my car and wondered what verse I should give him when I presented it. I cannot explain the feeling God gave me that moment I held the Vietnamese Bible in the car. It was a hunch that by God's character and because I was serving Him, an Answer was waiting in that 2,000 page book where I could read only the numbers. So I put my finger in without looking as He had taught me to do for perhaps seven years on those occasions when the Source of all good things seemed to be ready for me.

I had to compare that table of contents with my own NIV Bible and notice the name of the prophet was similar, near the end of the Old Testament. My finger was exactly on the middle of a several chapter prophecy condemning the nations, on the one verse by which God "signs" that prophecy. My finger was on:
"He who forms the mountains, creates the wind, and reveals his thoughts to man, He who turns dawn to darkness, and treads the high places of the earth— the LORD God Almighty is his name." Amos 4:13, NIV
This was the verse God wanted me to give Sam with the new Bible in his language.
