In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Genesis 1:1-2, NASBGN1:2 is about absolute darkness covering the deep ocean. Consider this seriously: this darkness means no warmth, no human understanding of events, and no possibility of any familiar lifeforms, nor any technology modern men often assume. For mankind this darkness is utterly without hope. The deep ocean is also an extremely dangerous place without hope. The earth itself, where mankind lives their lives, is so unrecognizable God has to assure us it actually does exist at this point.
As I was composing that first sentence of the above paragraph in the lobby of that laboratory, using this notebook PC on building power, that power flickered off for two seconds. That's when I realized what I was writing in a marine sciences laboratory about the deep ocean, concerning the Maker of all good things, who controls all circumstances and uses them to communicate to us personally, and how important it is to realize what His presence means in GN1:2.
A coincidence? Many would assume so. But I know this God. He loves to hint things in small personal miracles, especially when we know Who He is. That was a personal boost of encouragement from the Source of all encouragement, Himself.
WOW, Lord. You are truly Incredible. I love You !
